I understand there are masses of people who do not believe in God’s authority, but this message is for those who do. This is about coming apart from the noise of the world for a moment to decide how to proceed. This is the suggestion …
LET’S PRAY
Somehow even believers have been caught up in the crazy, malicious chaos that now comprises our political discussions.
My brothers and sisters – this should not be.
I Timothy 2: 1and 2 – “I urge then first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness…”
We are not to be standing and shouting amidst the malice of our times … but rather praying to our God in the quietness of time alone with Him.
2 Timothy 2:23 and 24 – “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And God’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.”
We need to be faithful in reading the Word of God, since He was faithful to give us not only the written word, but the Word made flesh … our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:12 and 13 – “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
I am only one person, but I believe in God … in His Word … in His Son … in prayer. Can we withdraw from this world of violence and malice into a quiet space in our homes … to do something worthwhile that will yield answers from the only One who has them?
Please … in the name of Jesus … let’s stop joining the world in arguing … let’s pray.
